As a government agency, ASIC must meet the Australian Government’s accessibility requirements under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992. This means all information and services on the ASIC website (including downloadable files such as PDFs) should be able to be understood or accessed by all our stakeholders.

Our website aims to meets Level AA success criteria from the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Version 2.2.

Some accessibility considerations include:

  • designing webpages that are easily read using screen readers and other assistive technologies
  • providing a ‘skip to content’ link at the top of the page, which allows screen readers to skip navigational elements and go straight to the content
  • ensuring our content (where possible) is adaptable and can be viewed in all browsers and on all devices
  • providing text equivalents (alt text and/or transcripts) for images containing text, such as flowcharts or diagrams
  • providing transcripts and captions for videos and transcripts for audio files
  • designing regulatory documents in PDF format with accessibility in mind, ensuring they pass accessibility checks
  • providing an avenue for feedback which will help us continually improve our website and services.

External translating and interpreting services

Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS)

If you have difficulty speaking or understanding English, you can call the interpreting service (TIS National) on 131 450. TIS National will then call us with an interpreter so we can help you with your query.

Note: All documents lodged with ASIC must be in English. See Translation of documents for further information.

National Relay Service (NRS)

If you are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech/communication difficulty:

  1. Refer to NRS call numbers and links website to find your preferred channel for contacting NRS.
