ASIC is an independent Australian Government body. We are set up under and administer the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 2001 (ASIC Act), and we carry out most of our work under the Corporations Act.

- ACCC – The ACCC’s primary responsibility is to ensure that individuals and businesses comply with the Commonwealth competition, fair trading and consumer protection laws.
- AFCA – AFCA operates an independent external dispute resolution scheme that resolves complaints by consumers and small businesses about financial firms.
- APRA – APRA is responsible for ensuring financial institutions will be able to honour their commitments when they fall due. It promotes the safety and soundness of deposit-taking institutions, life and general insurance companies, and larger superannuation funds.
